Meet Mr. Jack Stallings

Jack Stallings, dressed in a sophisticated suit, stands by a campfire, holding an open book with flames emerging from its pages. He is surrounded by a group of people seated around the campfire, set against a backdrop of a serene night forest. The image symbolizes storytelling, inspiration, and the communal sharing of ideas.
In a world where stories ignite the spirit, Jack Stallings stands at the forefront, leading a community of seekers around a campfire of ideas and wisdom. Through the power of words and the warmth of shared experiences, he inspires others to explore the depths of their own narratives.

Meet Jack, the storyteller behind the captivating world of ‘Taste & See Jack’

Growing up in the Town of Stars during the analog '80s, I—along with fellow devils—thrived on adventure and imagination. We wrestled fallen trees from the earth to build forts, creating space in an otherwise empty forest.

It was deep along the red clay banks of Natives’ River in the rolling hills of Western North Carolina where my journey as a storyteller began.

Amidst the grit of nature, the spark of creativity flowed wildly. Realizing how words could tighten the tether of hearts in an ordinary band of devils, I spent endless summer nights capturing memories like lightning bugs.

From those smoky dirt roads ages ago, to the concrete streets in the City of the Queen, my voice grew with rasp and bite.

A descendant of cheap labor and scrappy alcoholics, storytelling has become my favored therapeutic outlet to express my emotions. Once a trained killer who found faith and donned a clerical collar, I am now a simple poet with a beard and a bloody pen, writing about a faith forgotten.

Taste & See Jack is an experiment in vulnerability—

a bold exploration of the raw elements of life through personal poems and short stories. While my weary spirit traverses from the refreshing deep greens on Norman’s Lake in spring, to the miry charcoal gloom hovering over the Sound of Puget —

I invite you into these stories; I invite you to share this journey.

Launching on Epiphany, Monday, January 6th, 2025

Taste & See Jack

will be released in monthly drops. Each drop will offer a unique blend of original poems and short stories. Subscribers will also receive my curated mixtapes and cocktail recipes, offering a full-sensory experience to explore for themselves.

My debut poem, The Rock that Blows,

is a meditation on the beauty of letting go and unmasking pain. It was originally created on November 14, 2023, after a year of cosmic transitions.

My desire is to share stories that go beyond the written word, crafting experiences that linger long after the last page is turned. Welcome to a space where stories are not just told—they are felt, lived, and cherished.
